Birth Announcement

It’s a …

Rebecca Helen Anderson was born today, October 20, at 1:38 AM. She weighed 7 lbs 11 ounces, but has not yet been measured to see how long she is. She was named in honor of my husband’s great-grandmother and grandmother.

Rebecca is very alert and curious. She was born knowing how to smile, and loves starting at her older siblings while they chat with her. She is very mellow and content, and hardly even cried after being born.

As planned, Rebecca was born at home after a long but manageable labor. I will post the full birth story on here as soon as I get a chance to write it. Thank you to all who prayed for a safe and easy delivery!

Update: At the 1-day checkup tonight, Rebecca measured 20 inches!

  1. Congratulations!!! She is so precious! She looks like Miriam when she was born, I also see a little of Solomon in her.

  2. Congrats to the birth of your daughter! I am glad that the baby was a girl. My dream a few weeks ago was unfounded. 🙂 It will be nice for Miriam to have a sister. I liked the pictures you posted. It looks like all of your children are happy about their new baby sister. I am glad to hear that you were able to have Rebecca at home without complications.

  19. Very beautiful! Congrats on the baby!

  20. You sure are lucky to be living in a country where you’ve got the means to support your contribution to the overpopulation of the planet.

Just remember, every child that’s born beyond the replacement number for their parents is in for an incrementally harder life due to a growing scarcity of resources worldwide. But hey, maybe they’ll still be living in western luxury, and it’ll just be some brown people half a world away who’ll feel the pinch! Out of sight, out of mind, right?

But hey, I know you religious types don’t really have an environmental or a social conscience anyway, so I don’t expect you’ll take this to heart.

    Peace to you anyway.

  21. StridentLobster,

I pity you for the sad life you must have. I used to think and believe like you, but God in his mercy sent someone to show me how to be saved. Now that the Bible is my authority, I live a life free of fear, and I can base what I believe on a rock rather than the shifting sands of current political and social views.

  22. Well said Zsuzsanna!

    What a jerk that guy!!!!!!!!

I wish I could have more kids…. some people just don’t get it!!!!

  23. StridentLobster

    You are sick,

    You are stupid,

I can’t believe that you said that about a sweet innocent baby like Rebecca, I wish people like you would just get a life!
